Common FAQs

Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?

The short answer - no! Patients may be a bit surprised by the sudden movement, but the anticipation of pain is the hardest part to get over when it comes to getting adjusted. Most patients report feeling immediate relief after an adjustment.

Some soreness may occur later in the day, but that's normal, since now your body will moving differently than before. Especially if you have not been adjusted before or its been a long time.

However, if not done by a licensed chiropractic professional, adjustments may be painful or lead to further injury.

Do you accept insurance?

This is a very common question and rightfully so. Summarized, I do not take insurance because I do not want insurance telling me what I can and cannot do for my patients.

In general, insurance companies are not focused on any preventative or wellness services. It is much more focused on "sick care" and treating just the symptoms instead of addressing the underlying causes. Since I am focused on a holistic model of care and addressing the root cause of symptoms, I do not want my patient's options of treatment to be limited to what their insurance policy dictates.

I always welcome open and honest conversations about finances; I am here to serve you and will do all I can to help!

Who can see a chiropractor?

Everyone! While I do have further training in movement and sports rehabilitation, that does not mean you need to be an athlete to receive chiropractic care!

Chiropractic care is great for all ages - even those with prior injuries, surgeries, or medical conditions can see a chiropractor and get adjusted. However, the type of adjustment can vary person to person. This is why chiropractors are trained in several techniques varying from manual styles to gentle low-force techniques.

If you are wondering if you are a candidate for chiropractic care prior to scheduling, please reach out in the contact tab.

Do you take x-rays?

Yes & no - I do not have x-ray in-house, but if I feel that x-rays are needed based on consult & exam, I will refer you for imaging prior to treatment. If you have prior x-rays, you are more than welcome to bring to your initial appointment or email ahead of time!

How often do I need treatment?

Well - that depends! There are a lot of factors that contribute to how often you need treatment. It depends on if there is an active injury, how active you are, what your job duties consist of, etc. Dr. Neal will make recommendations based on your needs!
